ive decided think im gona stick with my 2.0 16v and have a play around with it instead of going the turbo route...just yet!
>Going to invest in a decent set of cams> any suggestions as to what would be best?
>sports cat
>fuel pressure boost valve
>uprated manifold
>pipercross viper induction> are these actually as good as they claim to be?
>and finally ecu remapped
all help and any other suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

yeah i read elsewhere on here someone who has a 2.0 16v is running 190bhp they have schrick 268 cams. also a tsr 4-1manifold would i not be able to find a sports cat to fit this without having to weld it?

also would i need to uprate the engine mounts?

You'd have to weld the cat on yes....

I thought the maximum on std induction was about 180bhp... then you need jenvey's

1.8T MK2 Conversion
you can buy a turbo kit for the 16v
just search using the function and itll bring it up. youve got to then consider mapping for the turbo, and any internal upgrades, but it is still an option

EDIT:

Thats the thread
'''ToledoRaj''' think i read hes spent 2.5k turboing it tuning etc and has got 260bhp

probably best to get 1.8t and modify it then within reason so as not to be needing to alter internals. have some £££ left for respray then

if you've got 3grand to throw at it then sell the MK2 add the three grand to what you get and get a mk3 cupra and the later car with the better features. I have a 16v and when its on song nothing beats it for fun factor, and its a really involving drive
