Thanks Andy. I don't mind losing the deposit, I was expecting to pay back the remaining 30 months too. I will call them tomorrow and find out.You need to check with the finance company. It’s quite common to charge you around 50% of remaining payments to terminate your lease, but companies vary. Yes you will lose your initial payment.
Thanks Pords. I’m getting shot because of the majority of issues posted in the forums. As a family we play the ‘Guess what’s not working today’ game when we get in the car. It Should not be like that on a brand new vehicle. I love the drive and performance, but it’s let down by so many niggles and problems. As Andy said normally 50% of outstanding Lease. So 30 x monthly payments less 50%. But each leasing company slightly different so might not be as bad. May I ask why your getting shot?
I’m sorry too hear that mate. I have been reading about the issues and praying that I don’t end up with a car plaqued by problems. And your absolutely right a new car shouldn’t be like that. These ongoing issues are making me a little apprehensive if I’m honest, and also that Cupra keep churning out cars with known problems, that have not been rectified prior to leaving the factory. Thanks Pords. Wow that’s awful for you. It must be a real pig if you thinking of termination. I too am worried what can of worms I’ve ordered. Thanks Pords. I would research it as best you can, I am sure with time the niggles will get sorted out, I just find them unacceptable in a 40k vehicle. My issue is I switched from Mercedes which is tried and tested and hassle free and I am regretting switching. I personally feel the Formentor was not ready and the release was rushed. If you are prepared to accept the multiple minor issues and then go for it because the drive of the car is fantastic. The handling and performance will certainly put a smile on your face. Plus you get a lot of looks from people trying to work out what the car is. I just went for a coffee with the Mrs and a guy started asking me all about the car as he'd never seen one...Wow that’s awful for you. It must be a real pig if you thinking of termination. I think the saying is 'you cannot polish a turd or roll it in glitter' and I totally agree on the reliability statement. Something is not right, even with all the extras included the car is poor and I do not want to be stuck with it...Yep another alpha tester here pushing for rejection, some of the issues I had were a bit dangerous as well. I like the handling and engine noise / drama on occasion but for the most part it's badly insulated (road noise), penny pinched and I find the performance a bit lacking (even on the 300).. Unless you find yourself in the right power band it's just lacklustre, then again I wouldn't be surprised if there's an issue as it's leaking in few places. I've had the car 2 weeks BTW..
Of course I knew it was overpriced when I bought it and willing to compromise in some areas because there's not much competition around. Although added to all the issues and dire ergonomics it became a poorly constructed joke. I've had 20 or so cars, some deemed unreliable and y'know what I've only had "real" issues with one other car besides the Cupra. When you're beaten in the reliability stakes by an Alfa 156 something ain't right..
I test drove the MK3 Seat Leon Cupra and that was a fantastic car, I'd of actually paid 38K for it and been happy if that says anything.
Secondly, regarding forums/bad comments. The vast majority of forum comments tend to be negative or people looking for help with issues (me included). They rarely reflect those who are extremely pleased with their cars! I have to say that I am pretty p*ss*d off with the "infotainment" system and the need to connect it with the internet, set up users etc but by and large I adore the car. If you read my posts you would only get the p*ss*d off rather than adore view! So I wouldn't take these forums as a prediction of what you will get or experience.
Who’s your lease with?
Mines with VWFS and after having my Formentor VZ2 for 6 months I have just gained approval to reject my vehicle with the majority of my deposit being returned.
This was all done in conjunction with Cupra UK too who gave had a number of attempts to rectify my faults with no luck.

If you have lease with VWFS read my thread called Terminating Formentor. I gave up due to lack of cooperation from VWFS.Has anyone in this forum had any experience in ending a lease deal early. I basically want to get rid of my VZ2 Formentor and I was hoping others with experience can offer some advice.
I am 6 months into a 36 month deal, will I lose my upfront payments etc.?
Thanks.
Trading in your sausage Maypack... they look nice cars from the front... far too low for my backache.
What problems did you cite specifically?
Thanks Agnes. I'll have a readIf you have lease with VWFS read my thread called Terminating Formentor. I gave up due to lack of cooperation from VWFS.

I had no major issue, didn't contact service, so rejection path wouldn't work in my case. And I'm not going to come up with excuses to book car for warranty repairs to push for rejection. Life is too short for visits to the dealer.
