CR 170 (2010) 60k

Had a DPF delete and remap recently, very happy with the map, tons of power right through the rev range and next to no smoke from the exhasut but after about 80 miles the eml came on...

took it back and guy said he could code the light out but he'd rather know the reason it came on..he replaced the lambda sensor and light went out. All was fine for another 80 ish miles and its back on again.

when the light comes on the car drives absolutely perfectly, i have no issues with it at all its just annoying having a bright orange fault light on the dash, does anyone know why this might be happening or had it happen?

thanks

You need to get the code and it's no good just getting them to delete the dtc unless it's a DPF sensor with isn't actually active, sounds the DPF delete side isn't done right to me as see this time and time again, I'm just taking a guess here mind as I could be wrong too

thanks for the reply, First time i went back they suggested the lambda sensor may have been damaged.

I have got vag com so maybe its worth getting the dtc, I will be going back just thought it'd be worth asking here first. So can i just clarify....is it anything to be concerned about?

I would highly recommend having the 'delete' part of the process looked at, diesel remap is almost foolproof. DPF delete on the other hand.....

We did a dpf delete on a friends car he took the car for a map and during the mapping the eml light came on, turned out to just be one of the connectors onto the dpf plugs loose as not clipped in properly, car was a 2.0 tdi A3 could be something simple, or one of the sensors may of been damaged during the process

Thing is if the lambda was damaged they have broke it whilst removing the DPF

They have not broken the lambda nor would i claim that, eml wasn't on when i picked the car up and i personally inspected the sensor they removed and it looked absolutely fine.

Vagcommed it tonight anyway and it threw up p2195 (too lean) which is exactly what he told me he thought it would be before i scanned it, bear in mind i didn't mention i had vagcom. Definitely doesn't feel lean and no fuel cuts at any rpm in any gear. Car is driving perfectly so unless there is any solid evidence to suggest it'll be detrimental to my car i'm gonna ask them to code out the dtc from being reported as to me its not an actual fault?
