This is almost as bad as my mate insisting that pool balls come of the cushions faster than when they hit them... took me ages to convince him that thats not possible and that if it was if you put two cushions close enough a ball would never stop... you cant make energy out of nothing.
:lol::lol::lol: constant enertia so if you wanged the pool ball really hard around the table it would just keep going and get faster and faster and faster and faster .....
maybe you should have told him about newtons law .. every action has an equal and oposite reaction .... im still baffled as to how they can be selling these surely its false advertising ???

Admitadly in real life, the ball wouldnt get faster and faster, however in a vacuum, with a perfectly smooth resistant free surface, it could

If there is a bit of spring in the cushion, then I guess it could come off the cushion a tiny bit faster than it did when it hit, however it wouldnt keep going because of the resistance from the table cloth

yea, but also if you are using a trampoline, you can jump quite high on one, which obviously, you dont jump on it from that height initially. You start from actually on the trampoline, so the stretch of the material must create some energy to spring you higher

that again is newtons law using tensile strength and energy .... but you yourself will be providing the energy by jumping if you just stopped the spring motion in youre legs you would simply stop after around 3 re-laps ....everything needs energy to move or get motion pool balls dont/cant create energy by them selves ... as with the electric super charger it needs an electric current to work and the amount of amps its gonna take to get any where near as much boost will as some one pointed out would be counter acted by the alternator creating drag lol

it's the reserved momentum and release of your muscle power that adds to the spring of the trampoline that makes the height increase though hence the suggestion of using a solid object to test it ;) that way there's one less parameter to consider

jump on one by all means but if you tense up stiff and stand still you'll land and your height will decrease almost 50% every time even come to a standstill in roughly 2/3 bounces as you need an additional force acting upwards to counteract gravity before you even think of increasing in height let alone returning to your original start height

be better off sticking an air compressor in the boot and blowing an airline down it :p

if you want more fuel/air in the chambers use a gas (n2o) not a motor, lot more efficient

just thinking about this shitty lil supercharger thing, it says the maf will detect higher air flow blah blah........I didn't have a maf on my 1.6 leon (unless its internal to the engine)

Wouldn't that mean the car would run horribly lean as theres more air going in and no extra fuel??

i dont know why they even bother with belt driven superchargers ? I wonder if its a screw or roots type charger or if it uses the G ladder system ?

no no no no no...

seriously.. are you being serious?

can you not see that some of the energy that the ball has will be obsorbed by the cushion? the cushion cant take the balls energy, somehow increase this energy and then apply it back to the ball..
If we could do that we would build powerplants out of pool table cushions..

super e ram = 8% BHP increase..........so £500 for 12 BHP
or a £265 remap = 50 BHP

i think they've supercharged the crap coming out of them

No, it couldn't. In a perfect system, with no energy loss, the ball rebounds at the same speed.

Short answer: tanstaafl

Slightly longer answer: conservation of energy. The rubber in the cushion converts the kinetic energy of the ball into potential energy as it deforms, then delivers that energy back into the ball as it rebounds. The rubber is not perfectly elastic, and some energy is lost, turning up as heat in the cushion. Nothing in the cushion adds energy to the ball.

The ball will always come off the cushion slower.

On a trampoline you put energy into the system with your legs at almost every bounce. A lot of energy. The trampoline is just acting as an energy storage system, allowing you to build up energy from successive jumps. The trampoline does not create energy.
