Electric tailgate creaking noise

Hi all,

Is this sound of the electric tailgate normal?

It's some sort of creaking sound.

It has always made this sound, it's only until now that I've noticed that only the right side makes this noise. The left side does not.

So now I'm thinking it's not normal... Any ideas, also what the issue could be?

Car is still some months within warranty.

Mine doesn't creak at all, but it has started making a small squeak right at the end of the travel to open.

Yours might be caused by under lubrication or screws over torqued. But sounds like it could also be rubber touching against somewhere it shouldn't.

Really need to use your ears on issues like this, is the creaking happening on both sides equally? Can it be pinpointed? Pull the liftgate by hand, does it still creak? etc.

Interesting, mine is also making a small squeak/creak at the end of its opening, just on the left side. Sounds like it needs some lube
