I can't get my mirrors to fold back open after folding them closed last night. I manually pushed them open so I can use them but as the motor isn't in the right place the mirrors won't lock into the right position as wobble about. Anyone know how to open the up? Can this be done on vag-com. Everyone else works on both mirrors but neither open!! Is there a seperator fuse for the motors?

I've had it where they have stopped responding before and cycling the ignition a few times while trying the switch in different positions when you turn the ignition back on seems to reset them after a bit. If they won't fold the first thing i would look at would be the switch in the door. Fuse number 1 is for the mirrors in some aspect, can't remember if that is just the heat or folding or both tbh though

Probably a good idea as I never fold them back. I only folded them back as a was street parking in London. I didn't even know they folded back til I owned the car for over a year when I accidentally turned the knob and the mirrors folded lol. I even manually folded them back once before I knew they were electric lol

It's to do with the electric window motor, take your door card off and just swap the window motor with a new one, if it's both mirrors then both sides need done if it's just one side then just change that one.

Or right. I didn't know it was connected to the window motor. Thanks for the info.

Yeh it is mate. I never new that until I replaced the inner door part. My mirror didn't open or close so I swapped that motor out for my old one and hey presto it worked. If you have a look you will see the mirror conects to the motor.
