Thanks for the mixed feedback.

I don't really want to pay someone £250-£300 for 30 minutes work, when ECU Evolution will do the exact same thing for £150.

Or am I missing something?

Ask them if they load test the car on the dyno, and take logs both before and after tuning to ensure everything is perfect.

Anyone can flash a tuned file to an ECU, but I guarantee you won't be getting a proper service and adjusted map to suit if required.

There's no dyno with ECU Evolution, I thought you only needed a dyno for custom maps.

more-bhp quoted me £350 for a mobile remap (at my home/work). This wouldn't involve a dyno, would it be a waste of money?

Yeh logs would be good to ensure its running right and getting most from the car, even if it seems right to drive dosnt mean its running safe,
Pay for what you get...cheaper is not always better...................

You'd be shocked how useful and important a dyno run or at least logging is.

There is a user on here (Hilla) with a fairly new, low mileage MK2 Seat Leon Cupra. On the dyno it should make approx 260hp standard....his made 225hp... as it happened gradually he hadn't noticed the drop in power too much

So before simply banging a remap on like some ''tuners'' we identified the DV being split, replaced it, remapped it and now its a healthy 314hp.

Thats one example out of loads that proove that you shouldn't just trust someone chucking a remap on an ECU with no idea what the car is running like before asking more power from it.

There must be so many people out there who have taken the cheap route and the car is not running anywhere near how it should but they no better other than its quicker....theres so much more to tuning a car properly :ban:

Ok, how much do you charge?

I will hopefully book with you next time I visit my sister (Telford).

Cheers.
