TMC Motorsport do a tuning box for this engine. £299 for 122bhp and 285Nm of torque once fitted! 30 day money back guarantee and 3 year warranty.
I'm thinking of getting one for my 1.2tsi and I have done research into this and because the bottom end is so strong on the 1.2tsi it can in theory handle up to 150bhp but the clutch probably wouldn't lol!
I'd go for it mate, yes it's an ecomotive model but so what???!! I had a 1.4tdi ibiza remapped and it could keep up with 1.9tdi Leon's and golfs ;)

If your still after a little speed bump for your car check out TMC performance. I have one of their boxes on my 1.6tdi Ibiza and its a revelation in terms of drivability so much easier day to day. I also have noticed the car doing less regens of the dpf, no impact in fuel consumption so far either.

TMC have a box for my LCR, it increases BHP by 70! Thats more than a stage 2. Do they have miniature jesus christs stuffed into those little boxes, so he can perform tiny miracles under my bonnet everytime I put my foot down?

Pendle Performance made a post on Briskoda tonight saying they are now offering it. No idea where they are etc but it's £795.

Don't go near Pendle Performance, absolute cowboys. Worst customer aftercare ever, stick to the reputable tuners.

This is the post from the forums.

We are pleased to announce we are the first UK tuning company to be offering a tuning solution for the VAG 1.6TDI engines, we have worked closely with software and hardware development for these engines.

We have a demo vehicle running 140bhp & 295Nm

Cost for tuning on this vehicle is £795.00

Regards

P.S I don't know anything about tuning etc, I'm a car noob :)

Most generic re-maps cost somewhere I'n the region of £300. But this I's by far better than a tuning box which I'n most cases trick the ecu and ramp up fuel pressure. Sure it will do the job but it's not the best.

As I said, don't go near them. I had a remap done on my PD170 with them years back, cost almost £300. It was just one guy working on his own from a garage in Barnoldswick. No dyno run before or after, took him less than an hour to load it up (so presume it was a generic map). And to be honest I didn't notice a great deal of difference after it was done anyway!
But, a few months later the car had to go into the dealership for something else and needed a software update. So I phoned PP up asking them if they could put the software back on (most other companies do this for free, or for a small charge). Anyway the guy said he would do it but wanted about £175 (or thereabouts) to do it. Was really arrogant about it, talked to me like a piece of crap. I wouldn't get a single thing done here again, regardless of the price. The guy's a backstreet cowboy.

£795 for a tuning box? and £175 run a map back to normal? jesus they are having a laugh with that aren't they! its not just about getting a tuning box or even a map, if anything does go wrong its nice to have good customer care afterwards as well. to many cowboys so defiantly go for a company with a good rep

Yep, I went with them because they were cheap but as the old saying goes, pay cheap, pay twice. I didn't go back to them, would rather have the car at standard and with £280 gone than pay the tw@t another hundred and odd quid to put it back on.

I was just looking at DTUK's site! they do have a box for the Leon 1.6TDI cr. the only difference between the standard 1.6tdi and ecomotive is that the ecomotive has a slightly longer 5th gear and a few aero tweaks such as a closed up grille and low rolling resistance tires etc . Mechanically as far as am aware there identical apart from the 5th gear so i would defiantly give them a buzz if they are near to you to find out some info..
