i spoke to pipewrex today and they told me the s3 downpipe and cat is the same as the one for the lcr, the only difference is the fitment on the end of the cat which joins the cat back system. so they tell me it will fit, just a choice on have you want it to marry up with the cat back, the choice is a sleve or weld the joiner on and cut the pipe to lenth. im sure this is a easy job for a local garage to do. they also said it might fit straight on, the norrow end might fit straight into the end of my cat back.
any thoughts?
i spose the good news is, the down pipe its self is 100% the same.

yeah i hear what your saying dan, we have an account at a local garage who does all our work vans and cars, we get a good rate from him so im sure it wont cost to much. the main reason im keen to do this, the kit from the usa comes with a sports cat, now i know they cost silly amounts from blueflame ect, so im comparing this kit to a downpipe and sports cat package. so if every thing goes well i could save £200+
well thats how i look at it any way, thats a £200 saving towards stage 2 and come mot time, there shouldnt be any probs.

I have mine. Just waiting to fit it now, badger 5 is going to fit it for me, i went there this week because my boost problems, seem to be sorted now:) bill took a look at the dp and cat, he said the welds are good and should fit with a little messing around on the turbo flange.

No leaks Wayne. I did pressure test before I went, bill did some aswell, we tested up to 2 bar without a single leak. Any way after a lot of investigations and a few runs on the rolling road we found out my new MAF was duff, and so was my old one. Cheap versions. My car made 201bhp with the duff maf plugged in. Then with it unplugged I made 214 bhp. Bill told me to run with it unplugged as it was taking 30% of my fuel away. So with it unplugged it ran so much better, felt like it had been mapped :) even better news now, I bought a Bosch maf yesterday and the car goes even better, I'd say a massive difference :) I'm really pleased now. Also my intercooler stayed at low 20s during every run on the rolling road.

Sambryant,
Just to confirm everything was great with your LCR and the downpipe?
No rattles? Or adapting?

I'll be taking mine to an exhaust garage and having a custom cat back anyways but the actual connection to the engine was good?
