Yes it is - Forge themselves recommend it! Makes no difference if its reversed or in normal position. Just sound wise.

I agree Jabbasport induction kit is ace!!!!

forge dont recommend it, but they do insist it makes no difference and if one way is the wrong way round, its the way it came from the factory. i was told this in person, by the folks that make these components....

either way dont really make a difference if u do it on an ibiza or a TT...it barely makes any difference to performance -/+ and the sound differs between applications

i went back to the original method recently just cos the chirp isnt so stealthy

iv got it running in reverse and i have had no smoke etc ..... its running fine and it sounds mint . ... and yes, i have noticed a small increase in performance, not massive, but its noticable defo :D

So does anyone know the actual score with this reverse DV lark????

like i said i have reversed mine and no management lights come on and no smoke out the exhaust, sounds good, cant see the problem

I need to know as if its going to knacker my car in the long run obviously, il turn it back if it is, rather have the car than the noise ..................

It doesnt make any difference if it is normal or reversed! Its all about the noise, most peeps dont like it reversed as it makes a loud whistling noise but some peeps like it

Its all about YOUR choice and opinion, i had mine reversed and didnt make much noise until i got to about 4000rpm and then changed gear and it was like bird chirping and that was it

running in reverse "relies" on the spring pressure to hold it closed against the boost pressure tho folks.

makes a kinda squeak on ones I've heard.

Well i listened to what you folks had to say yesterday and turned it back round last night into the correct position, as i fitted it in reverse before i fitted the jabbasport induction kit i didnt know what it sounded like with it on, so tried it the correct way last night and it still sounds mint, especially if you only take it up half the rev range (about 4k i think)

think il keep it in the correct position, it makes the same noise on mine no matter what way i fitted it, didnt get no chirp, just get a dead loud pppsssssssshhhhhhhh after the induction kit has finished roaring, must be the induction kit that makes it louder

I thought that when i reversed mine. It seemed to leak the boost a bit and cause the stuttering effect even more, and i presumed it was because the boost was pushing full force against the piston bottom. If it was leaking slightly before, it would leak even more when reversed surely.

I think it could be "reccommended" to reverse it if not remapped because it will dump even easier.

mine was remapped when i reversed mine a while ago, didnt lose pressure etc... still ran the same as the correct position (didnt notice any anyway), its in the correct position now though, sounds good with the induction kit,

yeah, one thing i've noticed is that the leaky boost causing stuttering thing only affect some cars. Some are running superhigh boost on the weakest spring (easiest to dump), while I HAVE to have at least the next spring up (not so easy to dump) to prevent it. Its weird.

I guess you can't tell anyone whats best for their car because they're like bloody women - they're all different and all tempramental :cartman: what one loves, another will hate!

Yeah, you're right. sorry these cars aren't as bad as women :p

ONLY joking. I love women and i love cars - just find them both a bit frustrating at times. Both worth the reward though ;)
