Hi, right ive just fitted the dynatwist to my ibiza cupra today and it feels "slower"??

Now is it just me or is it cos its reduced some lag therefore doesnt give such a kick when turbo comes in properly?:help:

Really doesnt feel as quick, ive looked at many old posts on fitting and mine is much the same as theirs so wrong fitment shouldnt be an issue? Pipe atm is running down to the front.

Almost no induction noise even with the intake pipe off? dv (oo7p) has got a bit sound to it now though. It was tweaked before i purchased it at APR 190bhp (apparently) incase that makes any difference?

Just hoping for any ideas or similar stories? thanks

Take the intake pipe from the front, and put it in the wheel arch lining facing back towards the body of the car, ie not front facing, otherwise the air turbalance going into the filter, could cause problems with the maf sensor (iirc)
You also need to give the filter time to bed in, it wont be instantly quicker, and probably not very noticable. But it will help the intake of air.

Give it a little time chap.

I never got on with mine personally. Always felt like mine was suffercating the engine rather than helping it. I took the canister off and ran it as an open filter as a comparison, and it ran so much better. Throttle response and pickup was alot better.

Sold it on after that and got an open cone filter.

Cheers lads,

CupraT mine seems to be similar...doesnt push you back as much or cant really feel anything kicking in like before?

Forbez....i will give it a little time mate and see how it goes? ill also try to get the pipe where the standard one went. Seems like to much of a harsh bend back on its self though? But ill try it mate! thanks for the replies!

I wasnt expecting a huge difference but i didnt want to be dissapointed by it feeling worse either?

if it really is holding u back, then is it new? perhaps its in need of cleaning if its used or perhaps it is ur air feed, i know i have problems at first locating a suitable position
ofcourse u might have fecked ur maf while fitting it
maybe u should try it with the can off see wot u think...personally i like mine the way it is and did get wot i expected from it..but i didnt expect much, just the engine to feel abit more free

acid, you running yours with the heat shield on? i am but ive never run it with it off! just might try it. ive removed my fogs and fitted the pipe from the filter to the bumper fog light hole and secured it there. never had any problems i dont think but like you say i dont expect a lot from a filter. thought it might have been noisier tho!

yep iv never taken the can off mine

mines grunty as **** lol and it all echoes through the can
if u take it off for just an open cone it'll be louder, but a different type of noise.

****ed maf? Sounds like you could have upset the tempremental thing.

Theres no way it could be worse than the standard air box.

But, i run mine with the shield and without the cold air feed as i reckon its gettin enough air from the wing.

I was never impressed with mine either, in fact took it off after a day and sold it!

and that was your mystake

the filters (for whatever reason) flow easier after a few miles on them... maybe cotton gauze settling with actual airflow passing thru..

Logged airflows are higher on Dynatwist when I tested it years ago.
If its not, something else is wrong.

Its not like you did'n tknow what you were buying is it...
Give it a few miles to bed in before making your mind up.

BMC is fugly to some... and no better performing - I tested these too way back when.

Inside the wing, there's some foam that the oem pipe went into. I removed this, and trimmed the hole in the middle to make it larger, and then put the intake pipe for the dynatwist through there, and refitted the foam.

This helps hold it up in place.

Right ive placed the intake through the foam into the wing and tried that, it isnt any better? Now im confused?

Seems slightly better when you disconnect the feed pipe?

Theres no problems while driving, like jerking or anything would a buggered maf cause problems i could recognise? No light on btw!

Im seriously cosidering just whacking standard back on with a panel filter in ?

After reading peoples problems with the maf, they said to try disconnecting it to see if it was any better?....i tried this and the tcs light came on as said but also the engine man light? The tcs has went off after stopping and restarting with it plugged in but not the eml?? Its still on? Got no vag-com!

any thoughts?

thanks....gary
