dv fitment

Hello new to the site and have come over from the puntosports site after just selling my gt.
just bought a x reg leon cupra & was just having a look under the bonnett and was wondering if the dv was fitted correctly.
it does not look,standard as it is silver & it looks like a recirc one.
the bottom of the dv is in the air filter pipe at the rear of the engine & a long pipe which looks like a boost pipe goes into the side of the dv and the vac pipe out of the top.
also there is a (what i would call)trumpet end on the opposite side.
there is no noise when car is driven when you back off the throttle unlike my old gt
punto.

can anyone answer please please.

Sounds like a wooshy dump valve to me. Get ready for some awesome posts.

Get rid of it mate if its a blow off valve, they cause all sorts of problems.


Have a search and see what comes up.

that's worrying where you say trumpet.... atmos won't work - but will make a noise. but if yours isn't - then something is broken.

Could be - hard to tell without a pic

it'll still be **** & only useful as a Door stop (or selling to someone on uk-mkivs)

i tried photobucket some time back.as i am an old fa-t i got lossed with it.

can any one give us an address so i can send a pic

i also found out that the valve is a recirc valve but you can make it woosh if you want or turn a screw for not.
is this correct.

the other thing is has anyone got a standard valve they want to sell for sensible money.

but i was told that you can make whooosh or recirc this one.
at the moment it does not make any noise.

Help with what exactly? Wooshy DV's dont work with the 20vt engine.

weird.

it its not making a sound perhaps is an adjustable set to recirculation.
however id not want to risk it.
