wouldnt have thought it would affect insurance on the subject of noise
i have both a forge 007 and a bailey dv30 and the bailey is fairly loud even through standard airbox /kn filter and pd160 intake pipe

Has anyone installed one, or had any issues? Im quite tempted to get one, but I only have a few tools! Ive recently had my old plastic Bosch one changed at the dealer and im still having a few issues with it. I suppose I could just get another one under warranty but the Forge one seems much better quality, and is the type of thing that should be fitted as standard!

Cheers

i have a bailey's trumpet dump valve for sale with a samco 1.8 20v t fitting kit it is very loud. these are worth a fortune new for what they are but il sell it all for £60 (not including postage)

with a forge recirculating valve it is a non atmospheric valve and is suppost to be quite but i modifyed my air intake and airbox lid to breathe easier with a green pannel filter and bypassed the n249 valve and now it is a suttle but hearable hiss sounds ACE!

yeah its up to them but it really isnt advisable, even if it doesnt bring up a fault code its still gonna give adverse effects to your engine long term. Thats why we have air flow meters to measure the flow of air. air/fuel mixture will become really rich which isnt good and can end up with "bore wash"

unburnt fuel from venting to atmosphere coats the bores of your cylinders and eventually this will cause your piston rings to fail due to lack of proper lubrication. The other concern is unburnt fuel gets dumped in your CAT which then overheats, melts and blows your turbo through excess back pressure.

Nice huh?

i was simply showing i had an item he is looking for 4sale  think he knows that the forge 007 recirculating valve is a lot better for performance and reliability but it isnt an atmospheric (loud dump) which is what he wants

yeah if its so great why did you change to a recirc valve:think:

it is up to them but theres a saying.. Caveat emptor

some people dont know what their buying and its not fair if they dont know the known issues with fitting atmospheric valves to 1.8T engines

This phrase has given rise to many informal variations, such as caveat reader (properly expressed in Latin as caveat lector).

Caveat venditor is Latin for "let the seller beware".

It is a counter to caveat emptor, and suggests that sellers too can be deceived in a market transaction. This forces the seller to take responsibility for the product, and discourages sellers from selling products of unreasonable quality.;)

Just thought i'd add that.......
