Hi,
Another quick one from me!
My alloys - 17inch (not the FR ones) seem very very dull and powder ish, quite odd to explain... tried loads to shine them up a bit. I am not sure if this is normal for these alloys or not as i have not seen another Altea with them on where i have had the chance to look at them.

If this is normal, i might force myself to get a recolor done (gunmetal Grey :-D)

Thanks

Chris

same here Chris, though mine are std 16 inchers, just don't quite have the shiny new look that some alloys have, there must be a product that brings them up better as i saw another Altea with same alloys looking sparkling

Mine has the 16 inchers and are nice and shiny. However, I had a Skoda Superb (and yes it was, miss the sheer size of it), I digress....., before the Altea and they had a tendancy to go a bit dull with too much alloy wheel cleaner. Although not as good as new, I found a bit of car polish made them look much better.

I recall the handbook saying something about using car polish on the wheels every now and then.

Will try a tad today, can't see it doing any harm, cheers.

Chris, will you do the same ?

Altea and Toledo alloys come in two colours Titan Grey(dull) and cosmos metallic silver(shiny). The early cars had the grey wheels the later cars have the silver wheels. No amount of cleaner will put a shine on the grey wheels, I know my brother-in-law has this colour on his toledo.

yes, fair enough, but in my case i've seen the very same alloy/year looking much brighter/shinier than mine, i'll advise later today once i've tried a spot of polish, cheers for the info.

Sorry, not had chance to try mine today, been trying to fit CL into the Van (T4).
Being an early model, i can only assume like explained above that i have the dull paint!

I can give the polish a shot one day this week anyway.

mine are 16" on the referance sport and cleaned them yesterday and look like new... must be a lacquer issue there.. I used the alloy wheel sealer from my superguard pack i got with my renault which to me looks like wax ..kinda like mr sheen but they have always looked good...

I must agree with Toledo 399, there are some grey alloys that no amount of polishing will ever make them shine, I know because I have them on my Altea.
