Hi I am looking for people's views and experiences with either of these tuning boxes I have a 2014 Leon fr 150 and have recently had a tdi tuning box fitted although the performance and fuel economy has greatly improved I had it on a rolling road the other week and was 15-20bhp down on the figures I was told so am thinking of swapping to a dtuk to see if they are any better so looking for anyone who runs a dtuk box to see if it's worth it , thanks

Hi Telscossie I am running a Dtuk crd3+box on my 150 Leon fr manual also 2014 with great results been running it for about 6 months great performance I have never had mine on the dyno as there are so many different dyno`s out there and from past experience they all vary I bet you felt a bit cheated on the figures what did they say it had standard as these cars also vary I had a Ibiza fr 130 pdi when I had that on the dyno it was reading 156bhp and felt quick remap on 195 with 300ft of torque
cheers GHB

Car still under warranty

Tuning boxes don't necessarily keep your warranty. Dealers are stupid... Any evidence of wiring looms or mounting points etc and they'll know.

Far more likely for your car to have problems using a tuning box than having a proper remap put on, anyway.

Celtic Tuning. They travel to you though best to get it mapped on a rolling road.

I've had 3 weasels mapped by celtic with great results though one I had to push them to get a bit more power than their normal map

GHB loves a DTUK thread!

Loves it? That's an understatement

From what I remember GBH also was the cause of his DTUK problems as he had his settings too high for the car. 3 + 2 if I remember and it was too much, once Andrew advised him to reduce it, all was good.

Regarding what Jarre said, yes, if they see you've got a tuning box on you can wave goodbye to your warranty, however, mine has been into Seat multiple times since I got the box and I just take it off and wipe any codes it may have flagged.

In the end though, I'd advise you to speak over the phone to DTUK and to a proper tuning company, browse reviews online for both and make a decision on what you'd prefer.

But then it did make his diesel Leon capable of outgunning an A45 AMG.

Every car runs differently with the different settings. Mine runs perfectly on 3+2.

Also I remove it whenever the car goes in for any work. Should there ever be any problems, they will never know that I had a box.

The only car I remember out running was a Golf GTD which is good seeing as it's the same engine, so should prove mine is producing more power.

DTUK were unable to tell me what makes their tuning boxes any better than a £20 one off eBay. Just 'you get what you pay for' with no technical explanation at all.

Make of that what you will...

What power did your car make on the dyno if you don't mind me asking?
