DSG woes.

Friend of a friend has just been charged £5000 for a new DSG gearbox in his 3.2 TT!



Car has covered 60K miles so Audi are knocking 25% off for him as a goodwill gesture....bargain (NOT!).



Something for the 'DSG fanbois' to bear in mind....

Not a problem if your car is in warranty though. Thats why i got an extended warranty on my GTI.

I've had the mechatronics unit replaced on mine and am well aware of the problems. The 7 speed dry clutch box in the Ibiza is completely different to the 6 speed wet clutch design that forced VW & Audi to cover DSG boxes for repairs in the U.S, so you'd hope they've improved the design!

Still be better with a (cheaper) manual option IMHO. Think that sort of things a bit unnecessary on a car like the Ibiza Cupra.
