With the latest DSG 7 speed gearbox I just dont know how true it is to select neutral when stopped for periods when stopped in traffic, at lights or just general holdups.
Have been told the selection of neutral stops wear and tear from the moving parts of the multiclutch plates
and also has the benefit of not having to hold the brakes and the brake light showing for longer periods than necessary.
On the face of this it would appear to be good practice, But is it a fact . Anything that could make the DSG gearbox more reliable has to be a good thing..
Keep on seeing things on Honest Johns website saying how unreliable the DSG system is,
I dont know truth from fact or fiction.
Any response most welcome..
