Is there a way i can avoid problems with the driveshaft/cv joints etc when lowering on 16's? I want it quite low but don't want to be knackering driveshafts etc. I know FK do a drop link kit i think, is this any good?

Cheers, Tom

wheel size has nothing to do with CV joint angle.

but you ideally want them straight & level. but people tend to just wind the coilovers as low as possible.

a drop link kit will be no use to you.

So will i be ok? Really don't want to compromise reliability but the standard handling is poor as many know.

whats the standard handling go to do with it?
lower isnt better

mine is fitted with coilovers on 16s and iv raised my car twice now since fitting the coilovers...its never felt as good inside the car as it does now...might look good low...but at the end of the day wots the point if it causes problems?

Mork, haven't fitted them yet, only ordered them yesterday. Would like to go about 70 at the front and 75 at the back. Not sure til i have em fitted really. Spacers are going on aswell to sort the handling out. What drop would be safe and not cause problems? The car is driven dailey but not far a great distance.

your car won't be right so low.

ideally about -40 all over (slightly less wouldn't kill you)

-70 will not be 'right' although queue all the wideboyz telling you that they've run it for 3 months & it's fine innit.

the 'point' of coilovers is to get optimum ride height & weight balance, not just for getting it as low as possible. perhaps you'd be better off with a fixed drop kit?

whats the H&R kit called and any idea where i can look for a set? any idea what the drop is? I've heard of the H&R Cup kit, not sure if its the kit you're reffering to.

I have the FK's coming this week, should i just fit them as the H&R drops it 50mm front/40mm rear so i could just set the coilovers up to around that. I've searched and coilovers seem to be the choice as the price of the Cup is close.

cheers for the responses mork :)

Ideally thats how you want it to be, its best to have the front lower than the rear, it will go in to corners/turns alot better. I noticed earlier you posted that you wanted 70mm front and 75mm on the rear. It will look good for show, but wont handle well.:)

Personally i prefer a low stance, but for handling its not so practical. Will just fit the FK's i think, about 50mm front and 40mm rear. I'll see how that looks/handles.
