DPF removal, no mapping required?

I was told it would be best to get my DPF gutted.

They said I shouldn't need it mapping out if its all stripped out as the pressure should stay constaint.

Is there truth to this?

Thanks

You may get away without a remap although it's not really recommended. However, what you definitely would need is the ECU reconfigured so that its no longer expecting the presence of a DPF (i.e. the soot load monitoring and regeneration functionality etc.).

However, if you're going to the trouble of getting the DPF removed/gutted then you would be best advised to take it to a place that specialises in doing a DPF delete and remap as a single package.

To add, as mine is the first year for the Leon to have a DPF a fitted it should be fine to remove and no map required.

I have seen a couple of members here to have the DPF fully removed and pipe fitted, and no mapping required.

Does anyone know what the crack is with m.o.t now with this, as I know that if it has been removed it's a straight fail, but obviously it's only a visual check. Or so I've read through research.
Thanks!

Yeah I thought as much, I really want to get it done the only thing putting me off was obviously the whole M.O.T side of it as I wouldn't have money to mess about with putting it back to standard if it did fail due to mortgage etc etc etc
