Door release broken, any advice?

Hi there,

Looking for a bit of advice please. I followed the guides on the forum and successfully replaced the seal around the door card in my doors for my 2001 Cupra. Great - job done and no water leaks so far!

However, the first door I fixed (passenger side rear door) for some reason the door does not open from the inside. I've checked the child-locks and mechism and all works ok, but for some reason the cable connected to the internal door handle is now too long and so is not pulled far enough when connected to the internal door handle by the metal hook.

The handle works fine from the outside and locking is all fine etc.

Any advice would be appreciated - it kind of looks like an expensive trip to the stealership. Not sure why the cable would now be too long (must have pulled it) and how to tighten it up...

ok this is what uve done, if its the same as my mark 4 golf which it should be......

when u attach the huck to the clip thing on the door card, theres 2 bits you need to attach, one the huck into the hole, but then theres a plastic bit which needs to slide into a gap and get connected and stuck into place.

this can clip off when placing the door card back on, so be cautious

and that should be it, 5 min job, if your in the west midlands, il do it for u
