Was out painting the calipers this morning and found that the passenger side CV joint gaiter has split around where the clip holds it in place and has shed grease over most of the inside of the wheel.

Was wondering if anyone knew if replacing the gaiter is something that SEAT would cover under warranty?

My cars nearly three years old i've got about a month left on the warranty, just hope it is covered!

Also is there any problem with continuing to drive the car or am i likely to damage something else as a result?

Thanks for any replies

Should def be covered under warranty. It will be fine to drive but get it looked at asap as you don't want crap getting in the CV joint or grease getting out of it.

i wouldnt think it would be.

Cv boots are messy jobs.

I think they'l wipe the grease thats there away and stick a new strap on it.

But what they wont do is wipe unde rthe boot also so the new strap that goes on will hold it for a short time.

Also if the boot is rock hard its fooked. or badly cracked

I'm hoping it will be covered, i'll phone the dealer in the morning and see what they say. here's hoping they're in a cooperative mood! Really dont want to be forking out on the car at the moment.

Its split on the top only as far as i can see but there's alot of black grease thats spilt out from it, it doesnt seem to have gone hard or cracked, just split next to the clip.
