Does a fmic increase bhp?

As the title says really. I'm planning on fitting my forge fmic today and i just contacted my insurance company to inform them (i'm a good boy) ;), and they asked me if it increases the bhp and by how much from standard. Now i told them i haven't got a clue and they said they cant make an adjustment if i cant provide a rough bhp increase. The car is a completely standard mk3 ibiza cupra, no remap, no exhaust (yes there is some of us still out there). Can anyone help?

Agree with the above
It is about keeping the boost and bhp so you dont loose it through the heat when the engine gets warm

i did find that i could push my remap a little further once i had the FMIC installed - i could increase the boost/timing without getting the heatsoak etc that i would have done without it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did have a feeling it aided boost but didn't know if this inherently affected bhp. Roll on with the intercooler fitment withoout having to shell out more money to the insurance comp!

does not increase BHP as such, but what it does do is allow the "peak" power to be pushed further up the rev range and allow the power to be held for longer and also removes or greatly reduces the element of heat soak due to a much more efficient level of cooling
