Well,

Bought my Ibiza and:

Turn on the car, pull off, SLOWLY start to pick up speed, and the car will bunnyhop, usually around 3k or more but with no pattern (IE sometimes at 5k sometimes at 2k), its like when first learning to drive or pulling off awkwardly.

Does anyone know what causes it? Doesn't feel like a knackered box (I pray to god its not) and seems strange its only in first gear.

When I pop down the gears while mobile it still does it.

Oh. And if pulling off with quite a bit of go, it doesn't do it.

Any help would be great, someone I know suggested it might be the pressure plates on the clutch, although surely this would affect all gears?

hmmmm,

I really do hope not, its only JUST turned 50k (I mean about 20/30 miles in). Someone on my polo forum suggested timing/electrical, so took that as a given, changed the plugs and rotor arm/dizy cap for bosch items, worked a treat. Is rarely doing it now, I mean, barely at all!!

Getting the cambelt and timing sorted this Thursday so fingers crossed will be alright from then!!
