Do performance diesel fuels work well with MK1 TDI 110?

Hi,

Do performance diesel fuels work well with the MK1 Leon 110 TDI?

I know they work well on some cars and not on others - is this engine one which people have noticed good results with fuels like TOTAL Excellium (53 cetane), Shell V-Power (55), BP Ultimate (55)?

I did try some Excellium diesel and noticed myself it ran better than Tesco standard & when I went back to Tesco, I noticed it ran rougher again and had less power.

I notice the responsiveness, sound and grumble noise improves as for MPG the weather and my driving make bigger differences and I can never really tell.. I used Shell for several months but gave up as its a pain to get to and ASDA self services ones mean i dont need to speak to anyone....

What milage do you get out of a tank?

I do 30 litre fill ups and get 280-330 (45-50 ish MPG) I'm at the lower end right now as my thermostat has gone AGAIN!.

Yeah, Shell is quite hard to find - have you triedf Total Excellium, seems to be loads more Total garages around here!

That's about the mpg I'm getting on average, less for short journeys in town and more on a steady run on an A-road or taking it easy on the motorway
