^^^^^^^^^^ As above.

Unless you have specialist tools to disassemble/assemble the turbo, a way of measuring whether oversize bearings are needed (and what size), and a machine/skills for balancing the spindle (assuming it's completely undamaged and doesn't need replacing) then this job is best left to a professional turbo builder. It's why such companies exist.

Should i get my rags on tomorrow and check all the pipes because i was reading on another forum that a clip had come of this lads pipe by the intercooler and every time.e he fixed it, it would blow back off and it turned out it was a piece on a pipe that had broken not the clip. But this caused smoke because of to much air intake. How would i check to see if the turbo is going???

It won't hurt to take a look but I would be surprised if it was as simple as that (unfortunately). The fact that you originally had low oil in the car seems to fit in with the mechanics diagnosis. That oil has to be going somewhere and it looks like it's escaping past the turbo oil seals and being burned off in the exhaust system. I expect the mechanic checked this already but one way to tell is to take off the rubber pipe that goes between the intercooler and the turbo and see if it is either full of oil or has an excessive amount of oil on the inside of it. If it's bad you might also need to consider getting your intercooler flushed out. And while you have that pipe off put your fingers in the side of the turbo and see if you can feel any play on the spindle. There should be none at all.

A turbo pipe off is normally noticeable by a whooshing noise and a lack of boost. Any smoke would normally be black, and might smell of fuel. If your turbo is drawing in oil, your oil level will go down and the smoke would be dark grey and oily smelling. You also run the risk of the engine running away uncontrollably. ( Google diesel runaway) if the noises coming from the bottom end are bearing related
Its unfortunate, but I think you have bought a money pit. I know that isn't what you want to hear, but you appear to have multiple ( expensive) faults, and it may be time to consider your options.

The smoke isn't all the time it's now and again. What happened is i got the smoke on the second day of owning the car so someone said check your oil so when i did it was on the minimum and i know lack of oil is not good for an engine because it keeps everything moving smoothly. But also keeps a flow going through the turbo to keep it going and im not 100% but if its not going in the turbo it can cause problems that im upto scratch with. Ill have a good look tomorrow and let you all know my findings with picks. Thanks for helping me

A video or audio clip would be useful if it can be heard on a recording.

Hi mate no video but the noise is turbo noise theres a name for it. So i have a little shake on the car inside when idling someone's said it should have no shake. So taken car back to mechanic who did the car and he said gearbox engine mounts was broken and thats causing the twitching in the car. So while he was under there i have oil coming from a circle disk and from what ive seen its an inspection cover so god nose. And as of yesterday me drivers side cv joint clicking so this is getting done tomorrow. I like the car but everything seems to be going wrong
