Hi,

Does anyone know if it's possible to get a digital speedo fitted to the Leon Cupra (52) ?

If so, what price (roughly), and anywhere near the Durham/Newcastle area ?

Just kinda fancied it really !! lol

Best Regards,
Andy

You can get a heads up display which is digital (obviously). This is a box that it 't'd into your ECU loom which projects the speed onto the windscreen for you, this needs to be set up on a RR

Sounds like it might cost a small fortune ??, how much would that cost all in (roughly) ?. Pardon my ignorance, but what is RR ?

RR is a rolling road. I'd imagine that any form of digital speedo is going to be expensive I'm afraid!

Another option you could look at is Stack (or any other motorsport company) tachos which will give you a speed output I should imagine. Again not cheap though!

The only cheap way that I've ever come across is some of the classic mini guys use a pedal bike speedo on their cars. Probably not what you want though!

Aye i had something similar. It worked off GPS, but it was slow to speed changes. It seemed that when i was braking it would go 50 - 40 - 30 - 20 etc, wasn't smooth. My sat nav does the speed, but again very slow on speed changes.

Andy

That heads up display I was going to get was going to be £100 + VAT inc fitting.
The Rolling Road is needed to calibrate this device. I don't know the manufacturer cause it was one of my mates that was getting it for me and fitting it

Actually £100 sounds very reasonable, and i would pay that. If you happen to stumble across the details post it here. I'd be very interested !

You could always get a vbox which updates a lot quicker than things like sat nav and Road Angels, etc...

I don't suppose your in Scotland?
I could arrange for my mate to fit this for you if you want?
If not I could find out details for you but you would still need to get some one to fit this and calibrate it for you

I'm no where near Scotland, unfortunately!. Those VBoxes look very expensive!. Excellent piece of kit tho.

Scangauge looks good, does anyone know if the results are in mph or km/h ??. I know you can get digital speed on the heating system display, but it's only in km/h and i'd want it to be in mph ?

Andy

AH, just had a closer look. The scangauge does seem to do mph ! - i might be ordering one of these ! - anyone know if it can do any damage seeing as it's plugged into the VAG port ?

Regards,
Andy
