yes obv it has more power, being new to the german scene, whats the differences in the engines between the 1.9 100bhp and the 1.9 130bhp?

any internal differences? turbo differences? is it the same block?

i understand you can remap the 100bhp model to 130bhp? but then obv with the 130bhp model you can map it to run 150-160bhp?

nopt really looking for power gains as i just came from a car with over 200bhp/ton and i'm getting rid to save on running costs just wanting some knowledge :)

I think that the 130bhp version has different turbo, different injectors, different manifold for starters. There may be more, but that's all I know for definite about.
It might even have a bigger intercooler, but I'm not sure. The 130 has a side mounted one whereas the Cupra has a larger front mounted version. I don't know if the 100 has the same size intercooler as the 130 though or not.
It also has bigger brakes and different hubs, so if you wanted to upgrade to larger brakes on the 100 it's more costly as you need to replace the hubs.

The 130 will apparently remap to more like 160 as a minimum and more like 170 as the norm. Take the torque too high and the clutch will be rogered very quickly so most people have it pegged back to 280 lbft or so.

Have you bought the 100 then? Or are debating whether to go for the 100 or 130? I test drove a few 100's and was convinced it was the one to get. Then I drove the 130 and that was that - 100 out of the window.

Also I should probably mention that the FR is pretty much the same as the 130 Sport of old.
The diesel range used to be 100bhp 1.9TDi or 130bhp 1.9TDi both branded Sport models. Then you had the Cupra above them at 160bhp with bigger intercooler, brakes, turbo etc.
Seat re-jigged the model line up so now the 100bhp 1.9TDi is the Sport and the FR is the 130bhp 1.9TDi (old Sport). The Cupra is still as it was.

i'be already bought the 100bhp model, we were going to get the ecomotive :) but it was just far to noisy, i can cope with noise having a stripped out track car with a race exhaust but the gf cant and it did sound like a tractor doing around 30mph :)

so it could possibly be the same block obv just breathing mods intake.injectors, manifold, turbo and obv a remap, pretty similar with most cars like the 172 and 182 clio difference was a 4-1 manifold and a 4-2-1 manifold so i bought the 182 mani and had it stage 3 ceramic coated :)

really loving the thought of having a VAG :) french cars are made from cheese - with holes in it

I think you might get a tad more than 150bhp from a remap as said above mate ;)

Oh and even the odd diesel can run over 200bhp per ton... see my siggy!

plenty of diesels seem to be able to go over 200bhp per ton, not really looking for massive power, i seem to have read that a few cars achieve better mpg when they've been mapped any truth in that?
