Hi
Its been cold in here the last few days, when i go to start the car in the morning, i turn the key and all the normal lights come on, turn further to start and nothing happens no ignition no starter turning over nothing. But if i hold the key in the start position for what sometimes can be up to 90sec it will start spontaniously. Any ideas as to what might be causing this delay in starting?

Sounds more like the imobiliser to me (?)

I drive hire cars regularly, and find more and more cars where you can be "too fast" for the imobiliser by sticking the key in and cranking it round immediately. When you do this they have a second or so delay before the starter suddenly kicks in.

Ive had this for the past two winters. All lights on but no-one home. then just starts only in cold weather first thing in the morning. Ive had the starter motor changed out for noises so doubt its that. Wondered if it might be a sticky starter relay?
