As you know I have a oil pressure gauge in my nomad pillar pod that is electronically wired up so it illuminates but I had not sorted out the pressure sender to it.
Sorted that all out a few days ago and was a nice little project.
Purchased a 42 draft design relocation kit to run to the sender as the sender was too bulky to fit directly to the port on the oil filter housing.
Fitted the hose to the top of the housing.
Then fitted oil pressure sender.
And fitted it to the hose.
Next was wiring it up. I ran the earth to the negative battery terminal.
And the positive through the bay to the firewall, through the small gap where the bonnet release cable runs and under the scuttle panel ready to go into the cabin.
Then got some engine bay wiring conduit to protect the wiring.
Next was to hide the pressure sender as its gold and looks unsightly and doesn't look right where it is.
Adapted a silicone reducer hose with holes for the wiring too and hid it inside.
After securing the wires to the sender I fitted a blanking plug to hide and protect.
Looks much better now I think.
Lastly was to drill the same grommet that I ran the vac line for the boost gauge and fed the positive wire into the cabin area.
Last time I drop the dash hopefully lol
Wires to the gauge and hey presto it worked.
Readings seem to be 1-2 bar on idle and sits between 4-5 bar driving normally.
