Well my Leon LED lights finally arrived from Dectane in Germany for us to test.

These are the latest lights from Dectane called their 'Litec' range. They are designed to look very OE, very similar to the new patterns found on the A4/A5 ranges.

I chose to test the 'red' versions, but there are also some clear/chrome and some smoked versions too.

The only obvious problem for UK cars is that all of these lights are only available in LEFT HAND DRIVE versions, hence the fog and reverse on the wrong side. The reverse is hardly noticable against the rest of the red casing of the lights anyway

I'm all honesty I'm not that bothered, and I've run a wiring loom across inside the boot lid, so the fog and reverse do light up correctly - albeit in theory the fog is on the wrong side for the UK

The lights are full LED for stop and tail plus indicator. Fog and reverse are normal bulbs, but as they fog and reverse us normal sized bulbs I see no reason as to why these could not be changed for LED versions if wanted.

Fitting is simple, as they are direct replacements for the original parts.

Feel free to have a look at the pictures below !

if there is enough interest I might be able to get a batch of UK spec lights done.

Hi Andy,

Can you tell me where you got your UK Version of the lights from??
I am after similar just in the Black (Non-Smoked).

Also if anyone knows where to order the DLite Black DRL Headlights (Halogen) for Seat Leon 1P1 09+ that would also be really helpful!!

Dectane currently have no plans to do either the rear lights or front lights in UK Spec. My rears are Euro versions and I've swapped the connections around so they still light up properly but the fog and reverse are technically on the wrong side.

It may well be, but it certainly won't have those fitted when it goes for an MOT as I'll just swap the middle two lights back to the OEM ones.

You'd have to be looking at a production run of at least 150-200 of each design for them to even contemplate production, possible even more due to the moulding tools.

We've tried this with various lights before, like the old Fiesta Mk4/5 smoked design rear lights. I had to order 500 sets to go back into production.

So unfortunately I don't think you'll ever get enough peopel wanting them, and bear in mind that the 150-200 figure is of each type of design - not just any old right hand drive versions with mixed colours.

I'm just about to order some Dayline Headlights and LITEC Taillights from Dectane. They will be fitted as they come from Dectane. Any there any changes I need to make to make them UK Legal??

Honkifyou, The dayline headlights are left hand drive only are are NOT legal for the UK, you will blind people on the other side of the road due to the beam pattern.

Driving with left hand drive lights in the UK is not a good idea for either you as the driver as the beam pattern will not illuminate the left hand pavement / edge of the road, and the beam pattern kicks up to the right which is right into the eyes of the oncoming driver on the other side of theroad.

The rears are also left hand drive only too, however I've got them and I'm not too fussed about the fog and reverse the wrong way round, I've rewired mine so they light up correctly, its only really the fog thats incorrect as the reverse can be on either side or both.

Please do NOT buy the headlights, but feel free to buy the rears if you want.

I've just come off the Phone with my contact at Dectane. Their Leon headlights are DEFINATELY LEFT HAND DRIVE ONLY, same with all the rears.

Minimum production run for ANY lighting product to be done in right hand drive is 500 pieces !

Many thanks to andyccr!! You have just saved me a lot of money. Will still continue with the rear lights. Does anyone know where I can get Dayline Headlights in RHD??
