After much changing my mind, I think I have decided to get a mk3 Cupra, especially after getting a quote of just over a grand to insure it when I get my full years no claims, not bad for 20 years old and what will be 1 years no claims, driving 3 years. So end of March will be looking for a Cupra. Can anyone tell me anything to look out for, as it will be my first turbo'd car.

i got cheaper insurance than that, who u get quotes from?

To be honest mate, there are loads of things, ex track day cars, MAF sensors, coil packs,

Best thing you can do is get somebody to go and see one with you, if your unsure that is :)

I tried confused.com and the cheapest quote it gave me was £3,000 on a 1.4, I had much much cheaper quotes elsewhere, shop around.

I had a full RAC inspection on my cupra before i bought it. It showed up even the smallest little things... Might have cost about 185 squid but well worth it in my opinion!!!

Had a word with some lads at Audi and they said don't get a 1.8T as its a crap engine and has many problems, particularly with it 'clogging up'. Has anyone here had any problems?

  If the engine is that poor then why is it in pretty much EVERY vw/seat/audi/skoda! iv just gone from a 1.8 16v vvc mg engine in my zr160 to buyin a mk3 cupra and the 1st thing i noticed was the quality of the engine and its potential when re-mapped! the guys at audi probly all have bentleys etc :bleh: you wont be dissapointed with the 1.8 20v.t in my opinion mate

Yeah my mum and dad on, iv just changed it abit, sayin my mum and dad drive another car on a regular basis, as they do, so not sure why i didnt do that in the first place. And they both just gone down another 200 quid or so.

I'd say my area aint the best, but aint 1 of the worst. Just average, hehe.
