Clearly a rip off. Ask around your mates.

Alternatively try a trusted local tyre and exhaust place too - cash deal only. Preferably not a chain e.g. ATS. It shouldn't take them much more than half an hour.

I just fitted mine and i'm in the trade, to do the job properly and keep the original in one piece you have to drop the rear axle down. which took about 45 min start to finish.

If you cut off the old one then its a quick job on the ramp.

( complete system, not just the cat )

I would do the whole lot if I were you. If you're simply wanting power gains, the back box alledgedly is the most restrictive part of the system.

With the Awesome 25% off MRP, I would beg, borrow or steal for the whole system. Messing about mating up to OE parts is not ideal. The Milltek system is well made and quality kit according to the mechanic who put mine on.

well not on the cheap,

just its gona cost a packet for an uprated clutch ,

ive got about £1 -£1.5k in my savings , just want to spend wisely , credit crunch an all that ,

so was thinking have that first then clutch , then a bit later on have the centre section & back box to match with the front pipe / decat ,

, spose i could either buy a cat back for now and do the front again , or as said above chop cat off for now, ,

im being more cautious now than with my old car, lost so much £££ on it + a little nipper and a house to fund dont help matters

A sensible man and I totally agree with you.

The best way to do all this modifying is to save up and do it in stages. As you have realised with a house and family priorities are not quite the same as if you lived at home with mum and dad still and no commitments (other than yourself).

Personally I don't believe in doing stuff on the cheap i.e. cut out middle section, fabricate, mufflectomy or whatever. I think it mostly comes back to haunt you and you end up having to fork out for it again in the long run. I think Milltek kit is great stuff like will last a lifetime but you do have to pay for it.

i think i mite go for the full system now being as it will save 25% off which i think is about £100 off

i dont get the difference in downpipe prices £99+vat delivered or £115 odd + if they fit it which is supposedly free , unless free is on catbacks , as they have mentioned no free fitting on just the DP
