Decat my tdi - have any of you guys done it?

lol the road does seem to be going a bit quick at that speed doesnt it? what you want is like a badger or pheasant to walk out casually in front of you!!!

I know exactly what you mean, while in Germany a couple of years ago on a holiday trip, I'd got up to around 130mph in the Ibiza on one of the derestricted bits of autobahn, and a pidgeon flew across from the other carriageway, just missed the top of the windscreen, must have been within an inch. Anyway, it scared the life out of me and I slowed down a bit afterwards...

I've had a pigeon strike at 70mph and boy, did that make a BIG bang. Luckily it hit the A-pillar and screen surround. My passenger (female work colleague) was bordering on hysterical afterward ...

I was driving to a town nearby, only half an hour away, and a blackbird or starling or summat flew in front of car. I dont know about you guys but they are ALWAYS flying really close to the road, just missing my car. So i thought nothing of it. Didnt brake or anything as usual and the bird polished my windscreen with its arse. lovely shine! Didnt kill it but went up and over my car and handed on the road behind.....car behind killed it! Pheasants make a loud noise, and a huge feather whirlwind when they come out the back! lol!

ive been quoted by someone of ebay for an DE-CAT for a non PD 110. £70 and 6% more power.

does this sound right. i have got a CURPA-R back box already fitted, which is what i told them and they said 6%. thats quite alot for a DE-CAT aint it?

To be honest, i dont have a clue if it makes a power difference. My decat was £100 so....yours obv seems ok to me.

Ask others on here just to be sure. I'd say it was an ok price. don't know about power though. sorry.

£100 for a decat? you are taking things off not putting expensive things on for this? get this right, decat is remaoval of the Fisrt cat, and some take back box off? its is only a cut an join in a section of pipe, bingo half hour (or less) job done? Grinder, a section of pipe, a file if you want to take rough edges, maybe a collar to join pipe and away you go!
