debaffled charge pipe

Why would it be baffled in the first place if it reduced power, surely there is a reason for it being there?

To reduce turbo noise, apparently at the cost of 0.05bhp :D. I could be wrong of course but a couple of guys on here (t0m & Coops) had back to back (I think) AMD dyno's with the same mods apart from Coops had a Forge Charge Pipe, t0m had an OE Charge Pipe. I think Coops made 305bhp & t0m made 301bhp but that's dyno figures which can be inaccurate at times & vary...so who know's . Personally I love the whine of the turbo so for a free DIY mod I'd have a go.

Theres a video on youtube (ill try n link it) that talks about how resonators and baffled silencers work.

The math actually works out that a baffled pipe has better air flow over a solid pipe.

it starts about 20:43 on the video, he's talking about and exhaust muffler, but i suppose the principle is the same.
