hi all,

found a guy on ebay thats just started making custom dead pedals for the LCR, he's sent me out a couple as testers for mine however i cant get the old plastic one off to attach it too, the bottom pops off easily but theres a plastic bolt/screw thing holding the top on.

anyone know how to get this off?

have been searching all morning but no joy,

please help

cheers,

Cian

I bought a custom one of someone on here a few years back. That was the only choice as I was not paying £70+ for an R32 one. You screw it into the original plastic one. Just two self tapping screws are needed. If you get them sorted then post them up for other members to see because I'm sure a few people would want one.

the guys sent me three nuts and bolts to fix so need to remove the plastic to get it on in the first place, or i could just not be so lazy and go out and buy 3 screws..... lol...

ill find the screws, fix it and take a picture for the forum,

not sure how much he'll charge for them yet but he was selling Golf GTI ones on ebay for £25 plus postage, a lot more reasonable than the horrible R32 one from vag-parts.

Yeah sounds good. Self tapping screws should be more than enough. Mine is only held on with 2 as said and never had a prob with it.

Right,

got some screws that work and fitted now, pictures hopefully below, apologies for the dirty state of the footwell, so need to get round to giving her some TLC!

Gotta get back to the chap who's made them about how well its gone etc, how much he's gonna charge for them, but he's on ebay doing other ones so looks promising.

there are two variants he's given me to try, one with a squared off bottom, the other with a rounded edge, on my 2002 model it was the squared off one that fitted best, although the curved one wasnt too awful looking.

cheers

you caught me mid-editing when i realised my mistake, lol

originally it was from a chap called rich351golf on ebay who was selling the golf GTI and R32 ones for around £25 plus delivery methinks, turns out it was his mate who was making them and he was selling them for him, ill keep everyone updated on what he says when i send him the pics back.

P.S. I'm getting the Henry out now to sort that footwell out! might treat the leather too, push the boat out!

imagine it'd be easily enough done, ill pass the comment onto the guy when he emails me back and see what he says.

just noticed that they do those inserts now on the ebay page, ill enquire about the seat ones of those

maybe see if he'll do a bulk deal too if we get a lot of interest.

cheers

Just don't forget to read the forum rules on gruop buys first ;) Seen so many good things get deleted because this wasn't done.

surely the problem with those cut outs is that mud or dirt will fill up quickly in the gaps? wonder if they would put some rubber infill in them like the lcr pedals?
