I've been ringin' around getting quotes for my 2001 cordoba's 60,000 miles service and cambelt/tensioner change and I'm pretty amazed at the difference between some of the prices i've been quoted.
Lookers Seat Stockport quoted me a shocking £305 for cambelt and tensioner inc. labour and vat and £215 for a service, a total of £520!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :(
Whereas David Cook Oldham quoted £160 for the cambelt and tensioner inc. vat and labour and £165 for a service, totalling £325, that's a substantial £195 saving!!!!!! [B)]
I think I can safely say which of the two quotes I will be taking up!
Just wondering if anybody has any experiences good or bad dealing with David Cook?
My car was originally purchased and serviced by them from 2001 up until 2005 (for which i have the receipts)

I am starting to become a bit of a David Cook dealership fanboy. Having been stiched up royally by Ford/VW dealers for years and had a terrible pre-sales experience at Lookers. I have nothing but a good experience from them.

In my experience with them, they are efficient, polite, know what they are talking about and their service is excellent (that's sales and service).

Two of my work friends have SEATs and both won't go to another dealer because they get treated so well there (and only one of them bought the car from them). They are family run rather than corporate/conglumarate. It's that personal touch that makes the difference ;)

Just avoid talking to Dave Barr (and I don't mean that in a bad/nasty/bad experience manner at all) while you are getting your car sorted, he will talk you into a test drive of something shiny

Had some service work done there and warranty work in the past. Very good service and reasonable prices, couldn't fault them. Diagnosed a long standing problem on my old Leon Cupra (2000), and fixed it where other dealers couldn't.

Only negative is being let down by the sales side, who failed to return my calls regarding purchasing of a new Leon R (former car) and then my present Mk2 Cupra. So gathered they were not that fussed about my custom.

Just to say I have had quite the opposite experience with them - just after buying my car it suffered a bad water leak that took them 3 attempts to fix....and it was only completely gone once we had the windscreen replaced!

Ever since I have used Awesome & IMG SEAT for my servicing needs - no complaints with either of them.

For service and repairs this is a great dealer- after 20-something years they know their SEATs inside out. Good value for money too.

Bodyshop also top, as I found out after losing an argument with a mobile phone user who was trying to drive a 40ft artic at the same time.

As a new Seat owner just been to David Cooks to find some info out on my Ibiza Sport (I only live 10 mins from there but car was purchased from Seat in Stockport which is a further 10 miles away)

My user manual is missing from the car and Stockport have ordered a new one in for me.

I think the guys name was Sam at DC and he has lent me one for a couple of weeks.

Very pleasant chap,informative as well

when I was looking for a car a few weeks ago DC took the time to look for what I wanted and rang me at home to let me know they had nothing in my budget

Ive had 4 cars from their and know the future owner (Dave Cook junior), always had good experiences with them and good prices for service etc...Sam is the sales manager and hes a good guy What i like about this dealer is that on tests drives they just give you the keys and say go play. You can always find out about a car when your givin it some on your own without having the salesmen talkin in your ear.

I'll add my thumbs up to David Cooks after having my 30k service done there. Only 99 quid on their promotional offer, and despite me living in Leeds, Sam their sales manager lives in Leeds too so took my car to work and loaned me his Leon FR for the day! Top job!

Oh and they fixed my cruise control fault straight away, where JCT600 Leeds just scratched their head at it a number of times and sent me on my way.

Big thumbs up! :)

they were thinking of doin that around 18 months ago...i kept on at that them as its quite a tidy business to be in...they were a little concerned about warranty issues with Seat Uk but they must have overcome their fears...what a good result that..just wish i had a Seat now to get it remapped ha !

revo approved indeed (well you dont get approval you just purchase the software that allows you to carry out the mods), revo provide a warrenty providing there are no engine problems prior to the re-map taking place which is why a full diagnostic check is carried out for free as part of the deal (any faults found must be rectified before the re-map can take place and can be carried out on site there and then which means you dont have to travel backwards and forwards).
The prices START from around £200+ and you can see improvments of up to 50bhp from standard!!!
So give them a call and see what they can do for you :)

P.s some really recent models such as the 1.9 ecomotive are still in development but should be supported very shortly.
