Ever since buying my seat leon fr, i have always questioned whether or not the interior lighting display could be modified, the standard colour of the interior lights and dash diaply is red, but i have always desired to modify it to a neon green or blue. Has anyone tried this mod or know whether it is at at feasible.

I am absolutely positive this is possible. I have even seen a how-to for the Altea (with photographs) on another forum. The trouble is that I can't remember which forum, though I remember having to translate it (it might have been either German or Spanish).

If it helps to find the site, I know that there was a how-to in the forum on making the centre console look like aluminium. There was a link to http://www.carbon-team.de, which sells the brushed aluminium-look adhesive foil.

I will keep searching and get back to you.

Found the site

Follow this link http://www.seatforum.de/forum/showthread.php?t=8323

Download the files under "EBA: Tachobeleuchtung (LEDs tauschen) (by Alteandrej)" and "EBA: Klima- & Lichtschalter (LEDs tauschen) (by Alteandrej)"

The direct link for changing the LEDs on the tacho tacho is: http://www.blank-christian.de/download/Altea-Tacho-LEDs.zip

The direct link for the climate control and other switches is:
http://www.blank-christian.de/download/Altea-Klima+Licht-LEDs.zip

I have not tried this, nor am I likely to. You need to be a real expert with the electronics and a soldering iron, plus be willing to give up the warranty on your car for the sake different coloured lighting.

Though I have to say, it does look quite cool.

Cheers,

Jonathan

I think it will be hardish.

I remember you can change them on the IS200 2005 model or below, and they have built in stereos like the Leon, as my dad owns one.
