loved my Stage 1 CC on my LCR, but then my clutch started slipping in 6th after a few weeks

Had the map done at 60k. The normal lcr clucth and dmassflywheel can handle the stage 1 right?

Dolby, "Dentist" who was posted on this thread said the above about CC Stage 1. Under what circumstances would the clutch slip with a Stage 1 map???

And mate, can the dualmassflywheel handle the stage 1 map? my cars done 74k. Ive never heard of anyone on here have dmfw problems with a stage 1 map??? have you?

CC claims 366Nm (270lb ft) torque for its LCR Mk1 Stage 1 remap.

The Mk2 LCR produces 350Nm (258.2lb ft) with its standard map.

VW Group's cost-cutting rule number-one: whenever possible, use carryover components.

Yet, the Mk2 LCR has an uprated clutch & gearbox compared to the Mk1 LCR.

Tells you all you need to know, really? ;)

Not really as the mk2 leon uses a different gearbox and flywheel setup , so the clutch could never be used , or the fly wheel.

A LCR clutch in GOOD condition should have 0 issues holding 280ftlb.

But there are always exceptions to the rule. Just depends on the clutch and how it has been used thoughout its life.

Hope this helps

All you people running custom code phase 1, need to sort the mods out and get custom code VVT ATTACK installed when its released!!!!

JBS custom code are currently testing this on my car and it awesome.

more power, more torque all through the rev range
more boost, holds it longer, delivers it quicker where ever in the rev range
smoother than any other custom code map

theres a thread in the jbs section for anyone that wants to follw the progress.

6th replicant, this thread is abt the lcr mk 1, the fact that the mk2 has 258 lbs is irrelevant, as this is about a CC map on a mk1..

Dont get your point mate???

Hey mate, Its entirely up to you, custom code are known for smooth, strong power delivery. Many people say that Revo gives you a big whack of power initially then it tails off higher up the rev range, P-Torque maps are good too. my bro in law has one on his. alot of torque on that map but nice power delivery and a decent price too!! cant comment on Jabba, as i dont know much about them.

Oh and JBS Designs are Custom Code dealers :)

TotalVAG are a very good place and greig will look after your car as he is a true enthusiast. Mandip i dont know if you realise but you will notice the car feeling quicker and quicker as the days go by as its the ECU learning the new map etc......mine for sure felt quicker as the days went on. Something to bear in mind.

Oh and while im on the subject there are a million other little mods you can do that will help the car along N249 bypass, debaffling the charge pipe, removing the fogs etc etc...get greig to do the N249 bypass for you while your there, he did mine for free!!!

Its good to take extra money with you, but i dont think you will need to though buddy

Yep totally agree Dolby my car is solely maintained by them now, always do a wicked job. I am going to get some guages first then its map time. I would like to keep an eye on boost, oil pressure and oil temperature before and after the map to ensure I know what normal figures are. Will defo mention the N249 next time im there too. :) Thanks

My Custom Code phase 1 is booked in for next Friday (7th) at JBS. Got the package deal with green panel filter and forge dv007p. Can't wait.

Oh I won't need the forge dv007 though as I've already got one so if anyone needs one check the for sale section next week. It'll be brand new and I won't even touch it!

I scooted over to the CC section but I can't find the thread dedicated to this new map. Can you point me to it at all?

I like the sound of this but is it designed for Stage 1 or 2 cars and what can it offer...any numbersor comparison to the normal CC remaps?

:hide:Perhaps I was being too cryptic? My post was in reply to Dentist's comments, below:

Hence my reply:

The Mk2 LCR produces 350Nm (258.2lb ft) with its standard map.

I was trying to make the point that loading c. 270lb ft through a clutch originally specced to handle 199lb ft might render clutch-life marginal? If this were not the case, then VAG would have surely carried-over the Mk1 LCR's clutch (& gearbox) to the Mk2 LCR (258.2lb ft)? In much the same way, for example, that VAG has carried-over the engine-block for its 1.6-2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engines since the 1970s (possibly earlier?).

No-one likes a naysayer, & I appreciate that there's anecdotal evidence to support that the Mk1 LCR's clutch/DMF is 'good for' c. 270lb ft, but there's also anecdotal evidence to suggest that the Mk1 LCR's clutch/DMF are not suited to torque hikes of 35+% - Dentist's experience being a case in point.

Indeed, instead of relying on anecdotal evidence - negative or positive - perhaps it might be useful to get hold of some documentation from VAG that clarifies the recommended range of torque loadings for the Mk1 LCR clutch & gearbox - can anyone suggest a source?

In answer to my own question, here's a previous SC.net thread re the (LCR's) O2M gearbox:
http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showthread.php?t=265528

Follow the link & there's a DL for a VAG PDF that states the max torque recommendation is 350Nm (258.2lb ft), in turn, I guess the same applies to the LCR's clutch/DMF?
