A while back I asked if i would be beat a modded Punto GT... well that race has been done and completed... :) :)

Now I have a new TARGET !

My girlfriends cousin has a Toyota Starlet GTI Turbo and it has been moddified quite abit. He keeps asking me for a race but to be honest im abit scared as i have heard they are very nippy.. and i dont want to look like a fool

What are the chance of me beating that.

Now i know these cars are rare and jut for the record this is what i know of it so far.

TOYOTA STARLET GTI turbo
1.3 cc 16 Valve Turbo
De-Cated perforamce Zaust
Magnicor leads
NGK spark plugs
Forge Dump Valve
Bleed Valve
Lowered etc etc

VS MINE ! ! ! !

Trusty old
SEAT CUPRA REVO'd
and thats about it lol
Oh yeah and a Bailey Dump valve hopefully soon to be getting a Dyantwist from Badger5 :)

Depends who gets the better start to 60 ....after that, you should pull away due to engine size & overall bhp.

Nippy as anything! I've seen a nice import in Cyprus giving it some ....around 7.5secs to 60 as standard.

lol @ jase ......... i was thinking the same , dont think the leads or plugs will give him super bhp increase.

Try getting some more mods under your hat ..

One of my mates has a starlet turbo and having been out with him in it, i'd have to say you would do well to beat it on a track. The cornering ability of the starlet is imense!!!! you may beat it in a straight line but corners are another thing. mates in running at bout 140bhp not as much as a cupra but bear in mind the starlet only wieghs 800kg!!!! there cracking little cars!!!
just thought i'd add my thoughts
cheers

Everyone whos been in it said its slow and my mate who has a Polo GTi raced him and the Polo raped the Starlet.

Good to see the airfield is the preferred choice of battleground. Not only does it almost eliminate the chance of harm to others, but it's a great place to test the car.

As everyone said power and weight come into it. Also remember the driver aspect. If one of you gets a bad start, then your race is most probably over. Get a few practice starts and practice runs in and you should stand a very good chance. Trust me on this...I beat a 265bhp R32 at Santa Pod the other week because I got a much better start than him.

Good luck :)

Do you reckon I should enable TCS to prevent wheel spin, Ive heard people say this is such an advantage and some others say its not.

Starlet GT's are very quick and can hold 20psi of boost easily completely stock. 7.01 - 62mph is the official figure; some ppl have run flat 6's in a stock car and easy 14's. Some of them that leave japan are thrashed sh1tless, so just hope the other guys is one of those!!

Even if it does beat you, rest assured knowing the build quality is bloody terrible and if he ever crashes it, he won't stand much of a chance...
