cupra tdi, white smoke and service

HI Guys,

Just noticed that my cupra tdi is smoking a little when i start up in the morning, white smoke to be exact. is that a worry. Its due its two year service should i try and get it done asap. they are quoting me £361.21 for a 2 year service and brake fluid change. can it wait till my hols are done

white smoke usually = nakered turbo

whats the damage for a new turbo, i hope my cargiant warrenty pays out on that

same happened to me turned out seat had put my cambelt on wrong went bigger turbo and never regretted it

That white smoke on startup is perfectly normal. As long as it goes away and after a few seconds and then you get black smoke if any at all then its ok.

if its only on start up then its just condensation is the exhaust burning off

are you getting confused with white smoke and steam ?

steam is perfectly normal on damp mornings, like when you can see your breath

the engine compresses the air from the atmosphere and when it exits the tailpipe it is hot and the exhaust that it has traveled through along with the air outside is cold, this makes steam

white smoke is another story altogether
