I have a horrible feeling my clutch is starting to slip and wondered what clutch to go for?
Im think of getting it remapped soon but that will be my only power mod so will a standard clutch be ok? If so whats the best one including price? Is there a good non oem one thats cheaper that a seat one but just as good? Also I assume its worth replacing the flywheel while the gearbox is off? Again whats the best option? Was thinking about a smf but not sure the extra money is worth it if im not going to big power upgrades?
My car has done 87000 miles is this the normal time clutches go?

Mine's on 63K just had a clutch fitted in the last few thousand. However I suspect it was re mapped before purchase, why the previous owner didn't lay out on the uprated clutch I don't know. Though I've heard with nigh on 300 lbs ft the clutch aint too keen and can fail depending on how the car is driven.:(

A remap will shorten it's lifespan. I went for a standard clutch pressure plate but uprated friction plate which is holding up fine. I also replaced the flywheel for piece of mind. Including fitting I think I paid £660

My clutch is running strong on my mapped and extra fittings Cupra tdi with 53k on the clock been running 196 bhp for 30000 miles and still strong.

I have known of some people running hybrid power on standerd clucthes its all down to how it's driven :)

sach and luk are your best bet for a standar unit but im sure sachs do a uprated clutch and can also do a single mass flywheel but that tends to be abit harsh under take up of drive

The pressure plate was a standard Sachs unit

Was thinking of one of those brands do that's good. I would like a smf but I dont want to pay too much as its an expensive job as it is and smf's are expensive.

That's a good price considering the parts a d labour :) Who do the job and who supplied the parts?
