Hello, just a quick question will 7.5x17 5x100 et35 alloys fint on the cupra tdi and not foul the big brakes? also was going to put on 215/40/17 or 215/45/17 Rubber?

Thanks in advance. Matt

i've got 215/40/17's on they're fine.

not sure about the alloy but you need to look at the shape of the spokes

Hi matt
I had a similar issue recently.
You need to make sure the Calipers clear the spokes! I dont think I'm confident buying any other wheels other than the standard wheels. I bought some Seat Avus 17" wheels and they clear the callipers with front spacers but I've only got 20mm spacers at the moment and I'm not putting them on the front!

Little bit more side wall makes it a bit more comfortable. Only a touch bigger on the rolling radius.

215/40 make next to no difference to the 'comfort' (can that word be used in tha same sentence as ibiza?) but it will protect the rims a little more against curbs. I'd like to try 215/45, anyone know where they will fowl?

The rolling radius will be too large, throw out speedo etc.

Sidewall height or profile (for ref)

205/40 = 82mm
205/45 = 92.25 mm
215/40 = 86mm
215/45 = 96.7mm

So on a 215/45 its a fairly big jump from the std 205/40

I've found the speedo over reads by a fair bit still with 215/40 so taking the speedo reading out of the equation, would they physically be ok

As for 215/35/18 the words mad and rollerscate spring to mind

I would think your going to struggle with 45 profile, but thats only a guess.

Plus its going to look over tyred.

And I have a MK5 (not that it makes much difference :))

I don't think anyone would notice the 15mm extra to be honest.
Personally I think 18s look too much on a small hatchback but we all have our own preferences. If I could fit 16s on my mk4 cupra I would!

Interesting, I had a set of 452s on my Astra (in the same size) and found them to be pretty good for the money.
