Hi
I have owned a cupra t for the last 3 yrs and have been extremly pleased with it until now.
About 6 months ago a problems started with the oil pressure sensor which was sorted with the replacement of the senor.
The car then ran fine until recently when the engine emissions light came on which was closely followed by the oil pressure sensor light. I pulled over got the RAC to tow the car in to the nearesr SEAT dealership and got them to have a look at it.
They tested to see if the oil pressure was low which it was. They told me the oil pump was in good nick and that it was the gause filter on the inlet to the pump that was blocked (with what he described as black particles) which was causing a drop in the oil pressure. They cleaned the gause, replaced the oil and said that as far as they are concerned the car appeared to be running fine and that they were unable to diagnose the problem fully without stripping the engine completely
I have driven around since then with no problems until recently when the engine emmisions light has come on again!
The car has a full seat service history and has never been thrashed around.
Has anyone got any previouse experience of this problem?
Where have these black particles come from?
Your help would be much appreciated.
