Only issue with fibreglass copies is that you'll end up bonding them to the sills

.... so then how does the garage get your car on a ramp/lift if it has to ??

The SEAT skirts, £90+ ea. they may be, but at least they can be lifted off easily* to avoid damage when required

*assuming you've just hooked them into the side clips and stuck a screw in either end as I have

OK, the Fibre glass skirt question.

I have these on my Leon TDi. (those same ones fron ebay from "carlovincriminals")

They are the same dimesions (exactly) is originals, only they don't have the jack point covers or the clips on the inside of the top edge.

So, heres what I did.

The standard SEAT brackets can be used along the underside of the car, and fitted as genuine skirts would be.
In the ends, the single screw can bu used, as on genuine skirts.

Along the top edge, as said earlier, the 7 clips are missing. So, what I did was made some fron 0.75mm aluminium sheet (thick enough to secure them, but thin enough to manipulate if needed)
These i bonded to the inside top edge of the skirt with Fibre-Glass filler, and mounted the to the car using OEM skirt clips from SEAT.

And believe ot or not, it looks OK.

Genuine skirts + fitting kit £215, fibreglass replicas + fitting kit £115.

OK, so now the lift on a ramp question. Yes it could be a problem, but when mine needed lifting, the garage had pieces of 4x4 timber which he sat on the lift, and these contacted the car just behind the skirts on the sills, so no problem.

Can't seem to add an image of my car to show you all the finished product.

All I can say is, take time fitting them, mine looked all twisted and wrong when they arrived. With patience and a good bit of spraying (don't do it yourself, pay somebody), they look as good as the real thing

I'm more than happy with my results.

i,m sure last time i asked at stealers the sideskirts were £112.00 plus fittings at £10.00 that was jct600 seat at bradford,,,,and that was around may june this year...but if i do get skirts i,d get genuine ones as will fit straight to car without having to shape due to copy not being good quality
