After my remap last sat I got 255bhp, held back by my forge TIP which is why I'm fitting my badger5 this weekend. On my dyno sheet the power curve just stops dead where the TIP can't provide any more air but once that's changed the curve should continue to over 270bhp. Apparently getting the air in is the most important thing for stage 1 and you don't need to worry about exhaust too much until stage 2. The fact i only got 255 with a decat and catback confirms that I suppose

I've only got creation Motorsport 3" TIP, KnN cone, heat shield, forge 008 dv, loads of red creation motor sports pipe work ( actually bought all the pipes the do apart from inter cooler pipes ) and txautosports contacted me offering me the inter cooler kit for £200 which is a Bargain but I haven't got the £200 spare lol I'd like to go straight to stage 2 but it's all big amounts of money now like exhaust and fmic and remap.

My insurer won't let me get an intercooler and I'm stuck with them for about another 6 months, or I would have gone straight to stage 2 too..... It gives me time to work on the handling a bit I guess coz after the badger5 goes in this weekend I'm stuck. One piece of advice I will give you that I know absolutely nothing about personally is if you can afford it it could be worth going for water/meth injection rather than fmic. Apparently the standard smic has decent flow rates but just isn't big enough to cool the air properly when you up the power. The water/meth system would get the temp down and could possibly give better numbers than the fmic. I was told that by Nicky at r--tech when I mentioned I can't get a fmic for a while. I have absolutely no idea how accurate that is but it might be worth looking into

I'm not after mega bhp I'd be happy with 270bhp so with the cat back and decat also with fmic I'm easy to see that off a stage 2 but it's just funds like always lol I've started on a few other things also like dog mount and s3 top strut mount. Next will most likely be either the fmic or power flex wishbones? I need to change the spring or reverse the DV to see if that helps as in 3rd/4th just poodeling I'm getting boost leak from the dv so the spring what's in it may be to weak or I've got the dv on back to front ha ha but that's something il take a look at in the next few days when I'm changing the oil and replacing the top strut rubber and link rods

A lot of what you've just said doesn't mean a lot to me lol. I'm the kind of person who goes straight to the engine and thinks about other bits after. I think I read that some people change dog mounts the stop the engine moving under power helping keep traction?? I've only had the car 2 months and like I said, tackle 1 thing at a time. Handling is next on the list although the car will never be tracked so I won't spend TOO much. I say that now anyway ;)

Lol I've just done but I thought yea that could do with changing ha ha when I bought mine back in October 2012 it had 115k on the clock and a lot of the pipes where perishing hence why I uprated them with ones from creation motor sport. They are fairly great pipes and do the job but as I say I've just done them for the sake of it lol. It's all trial and error. It's all depending on what your after and I'm not after huge amounts of power just abut more poke. Might go stage 2 or might just go stage 1 and save on having to put the hi octain fuel in lol I'm a tight arse on some things ha ha
