I have fitted this El Cheapo PCV fix as stated in these links provided by warren.

I bought the 19-25mm silicone hose from forge and two jubilee clips, also I acquired a 25mm hydraulic hose blanking plug from a local tractor spares shop.

I have fitted it tonight and I must say it is very easy to fit and it seems effective but there is one drawback, noise. I mean there is a vacuum of air noise coming from the disconnected breather pipe from the crankcase.

I have ordered 1/2 a metre of 30mm black silicone hose to put over the end of the breather pipe and route it to the bottom of the engine undertray and out onto the road (if you know what I mean).

Hopefully this will stop the vacuum noise I now have. Its only on tickover you notice it but it is clearly discernable. Even so a worthwhile mode for less than £20 all in [B)]

Knight Rider,

Yes mate you are correct, a faulty PCV can lead to boost leaks. If you are using the same set up as I have, do as djhorace has suggested earlier in this thread and just replace it at regular intervals. I have just received a new one from Seremotors (thanks mate) and will be fitting it tonight as a preventive measure.

Is it true that a faulty PCV can lead to boost leaks? I'm getting around 0.2 bar difference in requested and actual boost. Replaced the original diverter valve with a brand new one and i'm still getting a leak somewhere...

Are you getting the difference through the whole RPM range or just parts of it? It'll never be exact.
