Hi @.Griff. Yes after some while of having this my cars due to the Garage, overall I'm so happy on the car, the 360 Turnaround is great (didn't opt for Blind Spot Monitoring) however the turnaround for the MPG is great for me, as i get in a lot of traffic i place to battery mode and still get home after my 12 mile range with 92MPG (showing this specially with to others and fuel prices going up) having an ICE car cannot believe this.
Other than that i will be popping to the garage on Monday coming as its got a Scraping noise on the Front, SEAT/Cupra say its the steering Rack causing it but need to get it investigated Bummer :(

Just to keep the thread updated.

I went on a 100+ mile journey this morning which is fairly uncommon as the car is mainly used for local shopping, see local friends and commuting.

After about an hour the volume started to dip in and out, then pops/crackles started to come from the "centre" speaker and shortly after that it signed me out of my driver profile and is stuck in "Guest". Considering I was using the sat-nav at a fairly crucial moment and the screen went blank it wasn't great timing.

As if that wasn't bad enough 10 minutes later I got the SOS error.

To be fair Cupra were super efficient booking the car in over the phone but they did confirm there's 3 manual updates pending for the car and a recall which ZenAuto couldn't be bothered to tell me about!!

Not having much luck are you? I'm a bit nervous about my impending Cupra Ateca and I should probably stop reading these forums until it arrives :).. The MK4 Cupra Leon 300 I owned for three months was a bit of a lemon, electrical faults, paintwork issues plus quite a few of the infotainment / safety feature problems listed in this thread. I've driven a few 300(ish) HP petrol cars since and it was also definitely down on power..

Of course not a lot of people jump onto a forum to say how happy they are about a car, also stuff happens. Not the first lemon I've ever had and the Ateca might be absolutely fine (fingers crossed). Hope you get it all sorted Griff, miss the M140i yet? I've regretted part exchanging it on occasion.

It's such a shame as it has the making of a decent car but I've literally lost count of the times I've said "I hate this f...ing car" as the latest issue/glitch occurs.

It's booked in next month for 3 software/firmware updates so hopefully, that will fix, or at least mitigate, most of the flaws.

As for the M140i, I miss it soooooo much! It was the sensible thing to do to part with it and pocket the cash but I miss it all the time.

So far so good, infotainment has been doing what it is meant to. Can't seem to save favourites in navigation so just using the last destinations instead, as I tried what it had in the user manual, but no joy.

Hi Irfy Hope you liking the car, long time no hear, :) Yep mine had the 3 screen Updates, so i left it on whilst updating, i hear if they cut short like all updates, they don't go on properly. Yep the hard Reboot fixes everything had many a car with fancy system updates and to correct you had to disconnect batterys, not even sure how the hell you would do on these lol.

An update Please dont get Seat to wash your car, mine were shocking, micro scratching and swirls i wasnt happy, but couldnt prove it, im going to get some time try get to a garage and Run my DA to correct these. Spoke to a Mechanic in VAG, and they said the Valeters there, just run a dirty Sponge and wash the top with a broom, guess thats the proper way to wash a 37.5k `s worth of car.

"Vehicle stability control" is what they told me over the phone but I'll be asking for more detail when I take it in next month.

EDIT - I think I've been misinformed. Your question spurred me on to contact Cupra UK who were useless so I called the dealership back and they're now backtracking and saying it's not an actual recall, it's merely an ECU update.

VW dealerships apply the same standards to car washing when they carry out the free complementary service washes to customers cars. I’ve not let my VW dealership do a service wash (also known as a ‘scratch ‘n swirl’ treatment) on a car of mine for over 12 years; IMHO my car deserves better than being ‘washed’ with a dirty, gritty sponge and a bucket of equally dirty gritty water that’s been used on previous customers cars.

I always try and make certain my car‘s clean if it ever needs to go back to the dealership for any reason, so they can see it doesn’t need washing. I also put my ’do not wash this car‘ hanger on the interior rear view mirror, tie a tag with the same instruction written on it onto the key fob, and get the service advisor to write the same instruction on the workshop job sheet. It’s worked so far and my ‘do not wash’ request has been acknowledged and complied with.

Yes SRGTD i put in a lot of work on my car and when i was unwell with a chest infection, dropped car round, normally they ask if i require a Courtesy Wash and i say no so but never asked, thought when i got my car back it wouldn't have been touched from that Dusty Atmosphere when i hadn't been tooo well to wash it, and guess what they washed it,. Of course all looked fine on the Day when nighttime come and the LED Streetlamps hit the car the feeling in my gut was WTF have they done :( I've also bought one of those hangers now after all this so the next time it goes in im telling them straight .

In today's episode of "what will go wrong today?" this appeared on the infotainment screen out of nowhere as I was driving -

Thanks for finding that! That's exactly what appeared albeit I was driving along minding my own business and most definitely didn't trigger it manually - looking at the video I would have had to hold the menu button AND press "Service Update/Versions" in order to get to the resulting screen which I photoed. II didn't do any of that - it literally appeared as I was driving along the road and pulled over to photograph the screen as I was shocked to see something I'd never seen before.

I would have Went to update clicked the USB and updated to Windows 10 for Cirri lol i don't like the Lost Voice Guy Narrator too. Yep these cars cease to amaze me at times, I get the odd bug, no user found/need to register new Owner, sometimes boot bugs so these things don't surprise me Cupra have a way to go still

So the car has been in for its first service and for the updates to be applied.

What software version would you expect the car to be on now?

It's been a while since I posted here mainly because I rarely use the car these days and it's more my wife's vehicle to take her to work and social commitments.

With spring approaching and desires to do the North Coast 500 this summer I started to contemplate other cars in addition to the Cupra and to that end I've put a deposit on an A45 AMG which I should be collecting on Saturday! :)
