Hello all,
I have recently purchased a 2021 Cupra Leon Hybrid 245. It has a 13kWh (12.8kWh usable) battery. I have been looking to find out how much the battery has degraded since new.
The solution I have tried is by using an OBD11 and tracking the “High voltage / Hybrid Battery history data 1” in the 8C battery energy module.
I charged the battery to 100% and took note of the Counter for kWh discharge, drove the car on battery only until it reached 1% (waited for the engine to kick in) and then recorded the value after.
I ended up with a difference of 9.382 kWh which is 73.3% of the original capacity. This is also without taking into account the regenerative braking.
There is a warranty for the battery which mentions if the capacity drops below 74% capacity within 5 years then you are entitled to repair/replacement.
I was wondering if my calculations are correct or if there is a more accurate way to calculate the wear on the battery?
Has anyone had any experience with these battery’s and the warranty included?
Thank you!
