Hey guys,

My leon cupra has been throwing up an error on the dash with the "EPC" light, so I plugged my obd2 reader in and it gave me a code P601 or 01537. After googling I found it could be due to a low charged battery, so I replaced the battery which hasn't worked, even cleared the faults and it comes back on again. The car is remapped, but that was 9 months ago and it's only just happened now...

Any ideas before I go insane at this poxy light!!!

Cheers

The EPC light came on on my FR (pre facelift) had it looked at by the AA who said the faults where Throttle Pedal Sensors. So went and got that fixed by an AA recommended garage who have fixed the wiring behind pedal and put my pedal back in. Now they are saying it's the throttle body at fault( which I know isn't correct as my mate looked over my car and said it was fine engine wise.

Hope this helps mate

I had a friend of mine look at it too, he has a 9k snap on VAGCOM system, and he cleared all of the faults, and it threw up a "faulty door sensor", but the door doesn't have a sensor.. Something can't be right with the ECU!

I'm getting my car back tomorrow so I will let you know what the garage says mate. My other mate is an Auto Park in Dundee so will be visiting him too

Thanks buddy, much appreciated! I drove through a massive puddle the other day due to all this bollocks flooding, and thinking perhaps I've soaked a sensor somewhere and shorted it out??

Perhaps mate. Where you stay? You down south? I'm hoping my car turns out to be not as serious as they are making out

Yeah I'm in Gravesend in kent bud!

Hoping it isn't very serious too, don't like the idea of replacing the ECU, can imagine that will be very costly!

I dont think itll be the ECU mate. Think itll be something to do with the throttle body, but cant justify spending £400 to get it fixed when i can get my mate to do it.

Yeah it could be a whole range of problems. At least mine isn't the ecu haha

Okay, so I rang SEAT, they want £90 to read the fault code, then a further £90 to flash the car back to standard, then if that doesn't work they want a further £600-800 for a new ECU.

I spoke to the guys who originally mapped the car who said they've come across this before and will sort it out for £60.

Seriously, f**k SEAT!
