What have you had a go in so far?

One car only for a 1.5hr timeslot. 10 cars on the tracks for each slot so not able to swap and each session from 09:00am till 18:00 was fully taken. I wanted the CUPRA R ST’s as they all had ABT upgrade but ended up with a CUPRA Ateca.

And some fun it was too.

That’s a fine line up! Would of been interesting to throw a Cupra ST and then a ST R ABT around the track. Would of got a real sense of difference!

How does the Ateca compare to a Leon on track. Much difference?

Didn’t drive a Leon on the Track but the Ateca was surprisingly nimble. I was a little worried about body roll and tbh there wasn’t much that I noticed. It pulled like a train and stopped on a sixpence in both the Wet and Dry test tracks.

Launch Control on the Ateca was a blast too.

I was hoping for that too but I was too slow and the two CUPRA RST ABT’s that were there were taken by the time I got out to the cars from the safety briefing.

The MK1 and MK2 are press office cars.

I tried to sneak on this myself as was originally off today but was told all media slots had been taken, not suprised to see Becky Evans (QueenB as she calls herself) there seems to have made a career of jetting around the world as an influencer on Instagram (yeh im jealous haha).

Anybody over cook it on corner 2? the downhill tight corner on the main track? I did 70+ laps of there recently in a Cayman with ceramic brakes (not my Cayman) and nearly overcooked it once.

The Ateca is an amazing car (not that I'm at all biased!). I'm assuming that you had it stuck in Cupra mode running round the track - it does make it handle much better than you would expect, but is a little harsh for British back roads...

Sisters got an Ateca (FR 150 TSI) and it drives well, I had a Macan S (3.0T V6) the other day which is bigger than Ateca and even that handled very well for such a big car.
